Ethics and Dragons at Reading Library
Ethics and Dragons
A partnership with Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Libraries.

The program engages kids ages 11-18 in the traditional tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), blending it with philosophical and moral reasoning. Through fun, gamified discussions and decision-making, students unknowingly develop critical skills like asking thoughtful questions, considering multiple perspectives, and honing their reasoning abilities.

High School Ethics Bowl competition prelim round
Greater Cincinnati Regional High School Ethics Bowl
The best way to develop some of the most important life skills that a young person can have.

Ethics Bowl is a debate style competition but is very different from debate. Its founder, Bob Ladenson, views it as scoring a conversation and teaching people how to engage in dialogue. It is a competitive yet collaborative event in which students discuss timely real-life ethical issues.

High School Ethics Workshops
Facilitating meaningful, dynamic classroom discussions about real-world problems.

Our customized classroom workshops use teachers’ existing curriculum as a springboard for critical thinking about complex ethical issues. Through these interactive, dialogue-focused workshops, students sharpen their moral reasoning skills, engage with diverse ideas and perspectives, and connect classroom content to real-world issues.

Teacher Professional Development Workshops
Providing teachers practical tools to boost moral reasoning skills in the classroom

Professional development workshops provide teachers strategies to help students develop critical thinking, engage in civil discourse, and grow into responsible leaders and citizens. Our workshops are aligned with state standards for professional development and are designed to equip educators with practical tools they can immediately implement in the classroom to enhance student learning and performance.
